With winter coming, the weather will get colder and this will be every family’s challenge as children are more susceptible to get sick due to their weaker immune system. With these tips, parents can care for their children and have a happy and healthy season.
A good diet
In winter, a good diet will definitely help to avoid colds. Parents can make food with vitamins, especially the vitamins B2 and vitamins E.
Bathing is a tiny matter
If you bath your baby in winter, you must prepare everything in advance, such as the clothes and towels. The space had better be not bigger, so that the bathroom can heat up by the bath heater as soon as possible to reduce temperature difference.
When going outdoors, always wear a hat
When going out in winter, kids should wear hats as 25% of the heat is distributed through the head. The colder the weather is, the thicker the hat is and you should opt for comfortable and breathable ones.
A sleeping bag is the perfect answer to chilly cold nights
Kids toss and turn during their sleep making them more prone to get sick, therefore a sleeping bag is the perfect solution to keep them warm all through the night.
Dress according to the weather and temperatures
You shouldn’t put to many clothes on your baby as they could easily catch a cold if their temperatures are not regulated.
The correct way to dress is to do so according to the weather and indoor/outdoor temperature. In general, newborn babies (within 28 days of birth) wear one more layer than adults. Babies around 2-3 months old can start wearing as many layers as adults indoors but should wear an extra layer outdoors. Older children can even wear one less than adults indoors and same amount as adults .
